Together Again Open House: Slideshow, Story Booth, Music, and More!

Fri. July 16 - Fri. July 16, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm This event has passed

Free

In collaboration with Smiley’s Schooner Saloon

Please join us 5 – 7 PM for a special after-hours for a free community Open House to celebrate the Pandemic Porch & Gate portrait project and being together again and then head over to Smiley’s from 7 – 9 for more live music!

View the slide show of the more than 250 portraits that will be held in the museum’s archive, and share your story! The special moments captured by our local photographers and coastal residents display the resilience, love, and unity with which we are so very blessed and continue to warm our hearts and remind us how much stronger we are when we are together. We will remove the portraits that have been in our windows for nearly a year! If yours was on view, we’d love for you to do the honors.

In addition to the portraits, we’d love to archive your memories of the many days we were asked to shelter at home. We coordinated a story booth where community members may privately record their pandemic experiences. We hope that this opportunity to gather together again will further strengthen our connections to each other, our community, and the ancient art of storytelling. Your stories matter and we hope to preserve them in Bolinas Museum’s archives and share them with many generations to come.

We’ll also share music videos from local musicians created during the pandemic and family-friendly activities, including taking down the portraits from the windows and making a together again collage! You can also enjoy an after-hours opportunity to view the current museum exhibitions with your family and friends.

Then, from 7 – 9 PM, in partnership with Smiley’s Schooner Saloon, the LoWatters, Gardner Goetze of Soul SKA, Charlie Docherty, StuArt, and other special guests who were part of the music video project will perform live at Smiley’s outdoor stage
