FOCUS: Patsy Krebs

April 7 - June 10, 2018

Curated by Jennifer Gately

Inverness artist Patsy Krebs creates meditative abstract paintings that raise an awareness of our perceptions of color and light. With a restrained palette, she illuminates subtle gradations of light and dark values and their relationship to each other, often in square or rectangle paintings in a range of media. A native of northern California, Krebs spent her formative years in New York. She later lived in Los Angeles, where she earned an MFA from Claremont College in 1976 and began her exhibiting career. She has taught extensively at art institutions throughout California and divides her time between northern California and southern Colorado.
