Free Courtyard Concert: The Baybillies

Celebrate Mothers’ Day weekend with The Baybillies---a West Marin old-time string band that usually plays on a deck, peering out over the edge of Tomales Bay, where the band’s Virginia-born and raised banjo picker, Matt Porter, resides. Matt’s wide repertoire of mountain songs from Virginia and banjo-picking join with Santa Rosa-native Rebecca Richman’s old-time, celtic fiddling and Norwegian-born Irena Eide’s harmonies. West-coast-born-North-Carolina-brewed Dylan Flynn and Isaiah Mead Thalmayer bring impeccable rhythm, like John Henry’s hammer on a hot southern day, with guitar and upright bass. Some folks come to sit and enjoy listening, but we bet The Baybillies will make you want to kick up your heels and buck-dance all afternoon long.
