8. Bruno Blunk
This painting was featured in a recent exhibition at the Bolinas Museum. Inspired by the work of his father, renowned California artist J.B. Blunk, Inverness-based artists Bruno Blunk developed his own unique art practices. Raised on the Inverness Ridge in the hand-built home constructed by his parents, he grew up with a lifestyle that merged art, nature and self-sufficiency in a seamless creative environment. Family friends along with artists Gordon Onslow Ford, John Anderson and Jack Wright were influences. The ‘line, circle, dot’ theory and technique of Onslow Ford, and the dynamic energy derived from experiences and images impressed upon him during his years living abroad are visible in his canvases. Evoking inner and outer worlds, this painting was painted in Inverness and has an old-growth redwood frame. Catalog included.
