17. Cynthia Ona Innis
This contemporary ocean-scape by Bay Area painter Cynthia Ona is from a series inspired by the California coastline from Sea Ranch to Salt Point. A study in environmental transitions through abstraction, Innis has been recently painting and staining satin, silk, velvet, and metallic fabrics with ink and acrylic paint – the effects parallel the powerful natural forces that inspire her work. She is represented by Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles, and her paintings are held in the collections of the Berkeley Art Museum, Pacific Film Archive, San Jose Museum of Art, Crocker Art Museum, Achenbach Collection, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, to name a few.
