Twelve Plus One
Twelve Plus One is a lithograph of a momma valley quail and her chicks. Ordinarily, it is nearly impossible to see them. The hen, yes, the eleven young, no! This family is in a feeding mode: a tiny platoon, fanning out and then regrouping, tasting and testing new seeds, shoots and insects.
Thomas Quinn’s intimacy with wild things and their environs has become a wellspring from which his talent flows. Quinn is a resident of Point Reyes Station and graduate of the Art Center College of Design. He was the subject of a Bolinas Museum exhibition earlier this year.
