Dan McCormick: Beyond the Water's Edge

Dan McCormick is an interdisciplinary artist and design professional with integrated skills in the fields of sculptural installation, environmental design and ecological restoration. He is the recipient of numerous awards, and exhibitions. McCormick and his wife artist Mary O’Brien are commissioned to create environmental projects and exhibitions nationwide.

For 23 years Coastal Marin environs have been McCormick’s extended studio as he creates ephemeral organic sculpture to heal eroding land and waterways. Students at West Marin Elementary School in Point Reyes Station participated in McCormick’s projects with hands-on learning in biology, mathematics, art and group co-operation.

This exhibition includes paintings that capture moods of water and land and inventive sculptures of boats that traverse between them.
