Chris Whitefield & Ruth Charlotte Kneass

Close friends for years, Bolinas resident Chris Whitefield and Oakland–based Ruth Kneass share complimentary creative practices, each inspired by stillness and contemplation. Informed by geometry and an early exposure to Mayan art, Whitefield creates remarkable line drawings where a singular line fills a pre-determined space, while Kneass creates kinetic sculpture inspired by the Northern California coastline made from hand–carved wood and stone, and metal.
