Los Angeles-based photographer Dana Gluckstein’s arresting black and white portraits have been given international acclaim and exhibited in prestigious venues including the Palais des Nations in Geneva by invitation of the United Nations. These extraordinary portraits document indigenous people around globe whose way of life is jeopardized by the advent of modernization. Gluckstein is committed to bring attention to the struggle to save ancient lands, waters, and traditions as a primal response to a war-torn world out of balance. She is president of Tribes in Transition Education Fund (TTEF) a nonprofit organization dedicate to educate and raise awareness in support of the urgent need for implementation of the recently adopted United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. In 2013, Gluckstein addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on how art can impact the state of the world.
