Eye Witness to A Cultural Revolution

Selections from the Jon Goodchild Collection

June 17 - August 13, 2017

Curated by Leslie Acoca and Elia Haworth

These rarely seen, vintage photographs from the 1960s and 70s capture emerging stars-both on stage and in intimate moments-who became international icons of music, and literature  and fomented a cultural revolution that still rocks us today. Jon Goodchild was the seminal Art Director for London’s Oz Magazine, British Rolling Stone, San Francisco Rolling Stone, and Straight Arrow Books. He collaborated with many of the greatest photographic talents of his time, including Annie Leibovitz, Michael Zagaris and Robert Altman on photos of such icons as Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan and poet Allen Ginsberg. Goodchild moved to Bolinas in the 1970s, where he met and married Leslie Acoca, and created many of the designs that helped define Bolinas’ changing identity. He died in 1999, but remains a legendary figure on two continents.
