Getting to Bolinas from anywhere has always been a challenge. In 1910, one young man described traveling from Oakland to Bolinas via two ferry rides, an electric train, a gravity train, a horse drawn stage, a boat across Bolinas Lagoon, and then walking to his destination. From the first Coast Miwok Indian trails through bear country to modern missing road signs and GPS, this exhibition traces the fascinating history of traveling to this unique community.
