From the Collection of Robert Flynn Johnson

Vintage photographs of people doing crazy feats at extreme heights by profession or as performance. Divided into three categories this exhibition includes images of individuals that, by necessity, labor at great heights such as builders, painters, window washers, firemen, and policemen; those that out of skill, confidence, foolhardiness, or simply desperation dare fate by performing stunts for fame and fortune; and lastly film stills from Vertigo—visual reminders to watch this cinematic masterpiece during its 60th anniversary year. Robert Flynn Johnson is Curator Emeritus of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
