Wisby excelled at conveying Marin County light, as can be seen in this painting of a view looking down into Mill Valley across Richardson Bay, with San Francisco in the distance. Bright sunlight in the foreground gives way to a harmonious treatment of moist atmosphere with a progression of blue tones. In the middle of the painting
we see a train crossing the wetlands that aged the bay, and the white tower of Tamalpias high school. In the bay by Sausalito there are three and four masted ships.
