Collection of Ralph and Judy Grossi

The house in this painting is the Grossi family ranch, west of Novato, and built about 1891. The ranch has been in the Grossi family since 1917. The family eventually owned six additional dairies in Marin. Today, on this ranch, the family raises grass-fed beef and grows Pinot Noir grapes for Schramsberg Winery in St. Helena. Activist Ralph Grossi was the President of the American Farmland Trust, based in Washington D.C., and a founding board chairman of Marin Agricultural Land Trust, which has preserved a significant amount of ranch and farm land in Marin County.
