Patsy Krebs
Pirouette Series: Green-Blue Center
1993
Painter and printmaker Patsy Krebs creates meditative abstract paintings to bring awareness to our perceptions of color and light. With a restrained palette, she illuminates subtle gradations of light and dark values and their relationship to each other, often in square or rectangle paintings in a range of media.
A native of northern California, Krebs spent her formative years in New York. She later lived in Los Angeles, where she earned an MFA from Claremont College in 1976 and began her exhibiting career. She has taught extensively at art institutions throughout California. She exhibits nationally and her work is in the permanent collections of institutions such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Krebs is a long-time resident of Inverness, CA, and divides her time between northern California and southern Colorado.
